Page 1: Hello and thank you!

Hello and thank you for your interest in my research study! My name is Rebecca Dewey and I am a researcher at the University of Nottingham.

I am looking for healthy volunteers aged 18 years and over who use an Advanced Bionics HiRes Ultra 3D cochlear implant. I'm sorry but if you use any other implant that is not the Advanced Bionics HiRes Ultra 3D you cannot take part in this study.

The study that I am conducting is trying to work out the best way of imaging the brain of someone who uses a cochlear implant to hear.  If you participate in the study, you will be paid an inconvenience allowance of £10 per hour and all reasonable travel costs.

If you decide to volunteer for this study, you will need to attend an appointment lasting around 2 hours, in which we will ask you to have an MRI scan (the MRI scan itself will take no longer than 1 hour).

Your appointment will take place at the Sir Peter Mansfield Imaging Centre on Nottingham University Park Campus, postcode for satnav is NG7 2QL.

If you agree to take part, you can still withdraw from the study at any time if you do not want to continue and you do not have to give your reasons for withdrawing. You will get paid for any appointment you attend, regardless of whether you complete the study.
