Page 1: About the Survey

We would like to invite anyone who foot trims dairy cows to take part in a survey about routine cattle foot trimming by completing this short questionnaire.

The aim of the survey is to find out how toe length is assessed when foot trimming dairy cattle. The results of this questionnaire will help us design future studies on the evaluation of different trimming techniques with the aim of providing better information at farm level as to the most effective trimming protocols required to prevent lameness.

The survey forms part of a wider research project on cattle foot trimming as part of the AHDB funded research partnership led by the University of Nottingham.

The questionnaire will take between 10 and 15 minutes to complete. At the end of the questionnaire, you will be invited to submit your email address to enter the prize draw and/or to receive a summary of the results. Your email address will be removed from the rest of your responses before analysis so that individual answers remain anonymous. Your email address will not be used for any other purpose.

If you would like any more information about the study or have any other questions, please contact Sara Pedersen on sara.pedersen@nottingham.ac.uk , Chris Hudson on 0115 951 6879 (email chris.hudson@nottingham.ac.uk) or contact Nick Bell on 07870 619211.

Many thanks in anticipation of your help.
