Why we need your help
We are asking for your help so that we can identify priority areas for research in electronic cigarettes, in order to identify the top 10 unanswered questions on electronic cigarettes. This will help guide funders and make sure that researchers focus on the most urgent questions within this area.
Who you are
Everyone can take part! It doesn't matter if you are a smoker, vaper, dual user, or have never smoked in your life. We want ideas and questions about electronic cigarettes from people with different experiences and backgrounds.
What we are asking you to do
This is a unique opportunity to directly influence future research into electronic cigarettes. It will take you approximately 5 minutes to complete. Have your say and make sure that research addresses questions that matter to you.
What we mean by electronic cigarettes
An electronic cigarette is a device that does not contain tobacco. It uses a battery and contains a nicotine-based liquid that is vaporized and inhaled, used to simulate the experience of smoking tobacco. More smokers are turning to electronic cigarettes to help them quit smoking.
You may also have questions about other products such as 'Heat not Burn', JUUL, or nicotine salts.
What will happen to your question(s)
This survey is the first step to collect your questions about electronic cigarettes, and it will be followed by a second survey to prioritise them. This will help us decide what to fund and we'll make sure other organisations that fund research know how important the priorities are.
Your survey responses will be recorded anonymously, and any personal contact information you supply will be kept separately. We only collect contact details if you would like to take part in the next survey or hear about the results. You do not need to provide them if you do not wish to. After the study has ended there will be no need to keep any personal information and this will be destroyed.
If you want to read more about the Electronic Cigarette Priority Setting Partnership or you would like to download a paper version of this survey you can visit our website by clicking on this link: http://ukctas.net/featured-projects/ecig-psp
The survey will close for responses on 20th March, 2019.
Thank you for taking the time to complete this survey.
