Introduction to the study

The recent outbreak of COVID-19 has illustrated to us all the potentially devastating effects of infectious disease. In this survey we would like to explore your views to improve disease control in the UK cattle herd.

Infectious disease outbreaks in cattle are hugely important for individual farmers and for the productivity of the UK dairy and beef sectors. Disease control on each individual farm depends on each farmer, however disease transmission models that inform policy do not take farmer views into account. We want to hear your opinions so that we can improve these models.

The survey is led by the University of Nottingham, in collaboration with the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) and the University of Warwick, and should take about 25 minutes to complete. As a thank you for completing the survey you have the opportunity to enter a prize draw. Ten respondents will be selected at random to win an Amazon e-voucher of up to £100.
