Dear Colleague,

On behalf of the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group and collaborators, we would like to invite healthcare professionals who work in primary care, emergency medicine and paediatrics to take part in this childhood cancer awareness survey.

All children are at risk of cancer and we want to reduce the time taken to diagnose them.

Over 4000 children and young people under the age of 25 are diagnosed with cancer each year in the UK. It is also the commonest cause of death by disease for children in the UK.

In seeking evidence for a campaign to enhance awareness of symptomatology of childhood cancer and promote early diagnosis, we instructed Ipsos MORI to survey a population-representative sample of 1,000 adults in Great Britain. The same symptom list used in the public survey is included in this survey to assess professional awareness.

Completing this survey will provide us with valuable information on your awareness of childhood cancers and will support the development of the Child Cancer Smart project educational resources to close the gap.

Can you forward the survey invitation to colleagues?

We would be extremely grateful if you would kindly forward the survey invitation to some of your colleagues who are eligible to complete the survey.

If you are interested in the Child Cancer Smart, you can find us on Twitter or on the Children’s Cancer and Leukaemia Group website (https://www.cclg.org.uk/ChildCancerSmart)

The completion of this online questionnaire implies your consent to participate.  Data collected from your participation in the survey may be included in future Child Cancer Smart publications. Data will only be reported at group level, no individuals will be identified.

Thank you very much.
